Can you eat and drink with Invisalign?<\/h1>\n

Traditional braces<\/a> generally have eating restriction, such as, not eating hard foods and cutting large pieces of meat and sandwiches into smaller bite-sized pieces. Do the same eating restrictions apply to Invisalign aligners? With Invisalign you can eat and drink whatever you like, however, your daily routine will slightly change.<\/p>\n

Drinking and eating with Invisalign<\/h2>\n

Invisalign are recommended to be worn from 20 to 22 hours a day. When considering what to eat and drink, it is important to consider how long you\u2019ll be wearing the Invisalign<\/a>. You only have to remove them while eating meals and you may have to start drinking more water and limit the intake of snacks. Since the Invisalign trays are removable, you won\u2019t be required to eliminate any kinds of foods from your diet. You can still have all your favorite meals without having to worry about your aligning trays. Although you will need to remove the aligning trays before eating anything. What\u2019s important is that you need to brush and floss your teeth before putting the aligners back in. For example, while having any meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner, you will have to remove your Invisalign trays and put them in their case. You can eat and drink whatever you want. After cleaning your teeth properly, put the aligning trays back over your teeth.<\/p>\n

Reduce snacking to a minimum<\/h3>\n

It is recommended that you limit your snacking between meals. Invisalign are not designed to withstand the pressure of chewing, what\u2019s more, it can cause food to get stuck between the teeth and gums and stain your teeth and stain your teeth. If you\u2019re eating three meals a day, you\u2019re already reducing the time you\u2019ll be wearing your aligners for lesser time. If you also eat a lot of snacks throughout the day, it will reduce your wear schedule even below the recommended 20 hours in a day ;).<\/p>\n

Reduce coffee intake<\/h3>\n

Some people have to have at least two cups of coffee with breakfast. However, there are few people who need a steady fix of caffeine throughout the day. With Invisalign, you need to break this habit. Drinking coffee and tea all day can discolor your Invisalign aligners. The only beverage you\u2019re allowed to drink while Invisalign is water. If you\u2019re drinking something other than coffee, such as, sodas, juices and energy drinks it is recommended that you remove the tray just as you would while eating. However, it is recommended that you drink water because removing your aligners multiple times a day can reduce your daily wearing time to even below 20 hours a day. You can enjoy your favorite beverages while eating.<\/p>\n
